16 April Designated As Day Foursquare

NEW YORK - Mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed that April 16, 2011 as a 'Day of Foursquare'. New York joined with 13 other cities that previously had known these days of social networking.

The number of ID users in Foursquare does not always equal to the number of user accounts, but in the past has been marked as a correlation is that social networks are faster in achieving these goals. Similarly, as quoted from Tech Crunch,

Foursquare announced in January, that they grew 3400 percent for check-in and they sign up that there are 381,576,305 check in by 2010. In December, Dennis Crowley, founder of the Foursquare, Foursquare sign that announces that there are approximately 2 million check-ins per day and they menambha 25 thousand users per day.  


Crowley also said that users are divided geographically, between 60 percent in U.S. territory and 40 percent in international territory. While the average user Foursquare check-in is 3-4 times per day.

As quoted from Mashable, Friday (15/04/2011), Bloomberg had time to stop by the office of Foursquare in New York to celebrate the event together with staff of the company.

In April of 2010, the number of users Foursquare has reached 1 million. With the enactment of Foursquare Today, the company is hoping to continue to increase the number of users.
