Mercenary Army Khadafi

Minsk - A mercenaries from Belarus claimed to be paid 1900 pounds a month to help Gaddafi troops against rebel forces. Besides himself there are several hundreds of compatriots who do the same.
 
These mercenaries, who called Mikhail, said he and his colleagues did not participate in actual combat but only act as advisors and are always present on the front lines.
 
Mikhail told the Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda many of his colleagues from Belarus who is a veteran of the 1979-1989 Soviet war in Afghanistan and has a background in Special Forces.
 
The newspaper claims that mercenaries from Belarus who are responsible for the unexpected resilience of the Libyan army during battles.
 


"It looks like adviser of Belarus managed to keep the Libyan army discipline and teach them how to use mobile tactics to fight the rebels and how to face NATO air strikes. For the time being loyal followers of Belarus won the battle! "The newspaper as quoted by the Telegraph, on Thursday (07/04/2011).
 
The newspaper also wrote there were 500 advisors Belarus in Libya before the fighting broke out, although some have been evacuated. Meanwhile, a mercenary named Mikhail said he only worked as a private contractor to Libya, it is unclear whether other advisors of the Belarusian armed forces or was also hired to fight.
 
The witnesses in Libya say, seeing some mercenaries to defend Colonel Gaddafi Belarus participated in the battle, but the Belarusian Foreign Ministry denied these allegations and calls it a rumor to slander the reputation of Belarus.
 
Belarus, a former Soviet Republic is known as Europe's last dictatorship, has long had close relations with Colonel Gaddafi's government. President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, called the Libyan leader with "brother Moammar".
