Queen Elizabeth of England finally met with parents Kate Middleton, Prince William's future wife, on Wednesday (20/04/2011), after inviting them to a private lunch at Windsor Castle ahead of William and Kate's wedding next week. Both Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, spent more than an hour with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at a meeting described the court held in a "warm atmosphere".
Although Kate was introduced to the Queen by Prince William since 2006, many observers are puzzled by the fact that Kate's parents had never met the Queen during the eight years the couple's courtship. From previous reports are known, the Queen will not see her parents come to the reception after the wedding. However, Wednesday's meeting yesterday that have dispelled these reports.
Indeed, setting up meetings with prospective in-law of Queen's grandson had been done shortly after the announcement of the engagement of Prince William with Kate Middleton in November.
